Entry Requirements: 

Grade 4 in GCSE English Language or GCSE English Literature
Grade 4 in Art and Design or Merit at BTEC First Award.

Course Overview: 

Fine Art encourages the development of personal, imaginative and critical expression, enabling students to be able to communicate ideas in response to both internal and external stimuli. It offers you the opportunity to develop your skills in a wide range of traditional and digital media as well as enhance your critical thinking in relation to your own artwork and the work of others.

Studying here at ICC you will have access to a diverse range of specialist equipment and you will be guided by supportive, expert art teachers.

Exam Information: 

Duration: 2 Years
Exam Board: Edexcel                                               

Component 1. Fine Art coursework: 60% of the A Level mark
Component 2. Externally Set Assignment (Exam): 40% of the A Level mark

Qualification Gained: 

Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Advanced GCE in Art and Design: Fine Art

Career Opportunities: 

An A Level in Fine Art will support progression to higher-level courses in all the Art and Design disciplines. Application can be through a foundation course at Art College before applying to a degree course in a specialist area, or directly onto a degree course at university. Studying Art and Design for its own sake develops transferable skills, which can take you into employment. Success at this Level requires determination and dedication.

The Fine Art course provides opportunities for students to develop skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to creative industries such as Fine Art, Photography, Architecture, Graphics, Fashion, Interior Design, Theatre Design and Animation
